Theme & Presentation Date

It is based on Article of Faith #13 and 1 Timothy 4:12.

Your thoughts & Experiences

We want to hear your thoughts and experiences about how you face life's challenges as a youth in these latter days. 

Depending on what ward you live in, we hope you will write about one of the specific topics mentioned below:

BH – Being honest
FW – Being true/having loyalty and integrity
GC – Being chaste, virtuous, and pure
MH – Being kind, benevolent, and charitable
MC – Exercising Faith
RH – Enduring/Strength of Spirit
SW – Seeking things of good report, lovely, or praiseworthy (in a physical, outward sense).
SC – Seeking things of good report, lovely, or praiseworthy (in an inward spiritual sense).
TP – Being an example in word, conversation, missionary work.

Your thoughts and experiences are so important.  We will be using your submissions as the foundation for the entire musical program.  It will provide a connection between musical pieces and help tell your story as youth in these latter days.

Auditions

Auditions for solo voice parts, instrumental parts, and reading parts will be held:

Sept 13th and 15th at the Stake Center Primary Room from 6 to 8pm.

Sept 20th and 22nd at the Highlands bldg YM/YW Room from 6 to 8pm.

Please Note:

All vocalists need to bring something to sing, and will be given a short piece of music to learn and sing.

All instrumentalists need to bring something to play, and will be given a short piece of music to learn and play.

All readers will be given something to read. If you would like to be given something to rehearse, that would be fine.

A pianist will be provided, but if you are more comfortable bringing your own, please do so. If you’d like to play a cappella, that would be fine as well.

Instrumentalists we are considering:
         Stringed instruments ( cello, viola and/or violin)
         Guitar
         Flute

Wed Oct 19th - 7-8:30pm (moved to RH Building)

Wed Oct 26rd - 7-8:30pm
Sat Oct 29th -    8-9am Technical Rehearsal 
                            9-12pm Dress Rehearsal
                            **Please bring a sack lunch
Sun Oct 30th -  5:30pm / 7:30pm Performance

Performance dress will be jewel-toned blouses and dark skirts for the young women, and white shirts with dark pants and a jewel-toned tie for the young men.

Devotional / Building Setup - For Rehearsals

The schedule for the youth Musical rehearsals for setup, devotional and conducting is as follows:

10-2  Benson Hill Ward
10-5 Fairwood (please set up by 6pm)
10-9 Garrison Creek (please set up by 6:30pm)
10-12 Maplewood Heights (please set up by 6pm in RH Bld)
10-19 May Creek (please set up by 6pm in RH Bldg)
10-23 Renton Highlands / Spanish Branch (please set up by 6:30pm)
10-26 Skyway (please set up by 6pm)
10-29 Soos Creek (please set up by 8am)

The Sunday rehearsals start at 6pm, the Wednesday nights start at 7pm. Please make sure assignments get made in your wards for your day.

Setup consists of setting up chairs in the YW/YM room, primary and Relief society Rooms.
